Hi there! I’m Marissa, a DONA Certified Birth Doula and Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator in Northern NJ and Manhattan. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and made the move across the Hudson for love - got married to a Bayonne boy, moved to Madison, and became a mom to two sweet, crazy lil toddlers. My journey into the birth world began with my own experiences of multiple pregnancy losses, the journey to my son, and the adventure of new motherhood.

In 2020, my husband and I faced unexpected challenges while trying to grow our family. Sharing my story during my pregnancy helped me connect with friends who were going through similar struggles. As more families came to me for resources and support, not only for losses but first time moms who needed someone to turn to during their pregnancies and labor prep, I was inspired to dive into childbirth education and become a birth doula.

Just four months after my son was born, I completed my DONA birth doula training and became a Lamaze educator. After welcoming my daughter in 2024, I transitioned to in-person support and earned the title of Certified Doula! I am so passionate about empowering women throughout their pregnancy and birth experiences, and am so grateful to be welcomed into these incredible, beautiful, vulnerable, and life-changing moments of peoples’ lives!

    Marissa supported me throughout my second pregnancy. In my first trimester, her advice on HG greatly helped me cope. She also assisted me through a miscarriage scare in my 2nd trimester, encouraging me to visit my OB based on my symptoms. This helped me get diagnosed with a bacterial infection and start a course of antibiotics sooner rather than later, which ended up lowering my risk of having an actual miscarriage. She is a caring professional whose passion truly shines through. I am so glad I had her during my pregnancy journey.
